“Traveling is a brutality. It forces you to trust strangers and to lose sight of all that familiar comfort of home and friends. You are constantly off balance. Nothing is yours except the essential things - air, sleep, dreams, the sea, the sky - all things tending towards the eternal or what we imagine of it.”-John Stole

THAILAND

I intend to spend the duration of my stay in Thailand in Phuket, an island just off Thailand.

I have been invited to Train at a Thai boxing training camp in the south of Phuket called Rawai Muay Thai Camp.

I intend to spend 3 months training at this camp getting my fitness up to a very high standard, and hopefully being able to fight at a Thai boxing event in thailand before i leave.

"Training 6 hours a day is not as hard as it sounds. You start your day at 7:30 am with a morning run (30 - 60 minutes). You then participate in the morning training session which can include sparring, technique, boxing, kicking pads and so on. You can then finish your morning training session with 30 - 40 minutes of weight training, yoga, and stretching. At 3 you do a afternoon run and then you are back in the gym for another 2 - 3 hours of Muay Thai and fitness training in the high humidity of the tropics"

I plan to live in the gym in shared accommodation with other thai boxing students. I decided on the cheep est accommodations at only 5'000 a month about £100

"Shared bungalows with fans sleep 2 or 3 students depending on the room. Each students gets one single bed. Shared bungalows have a fridge, TV with cable and DVD player, fans, toilet and hot water shower."
