“Traveling is a brutality. It forces you to trust strangers and to lose sight of all that familiar comfort of home and friends. You are constantly off balance. Nothing is yours except the essential things - air, sleep, dreams, the sea, the sky - all things tending towards the eternal or what we imagine of it.”-John Stole

ABOUT ME

basically I'm 18 in the Territorial Army, I Drive a sexy black motorbike, I like to jump out of Aeroplanes, climb stuff, shoot stuff and go drinking with mates.

Hi my names Frazer Adam Hainsworth I was born in England in 1991 i have two sisters and two brothers.

Rachel, Kelly, Ashley and Stephen

I live at home with Rachel and Ashley but Kelly and Stephen both live in Ireland and are from my fathers side of the family.

The first school i ever went to was Rastrick, i was there until the age of 9, I didn't really like it there.

I then moved to Heartshead jnr and infant school, I was at this school until year 6,

I then took both the Batley Grammar School and Heckmondwike Grammar school entrance Exam, unfortunately I only passed the Batley Grammar School exam, but wanted to go there over Heckmondwike anyway as they had a Combined Cadet Force.

BATLEY GRAMMAR SCHOOL
I think Batley Grammar had the biggest effect on my life out of all the schools I had being to. during my time at this school i joined the combined cadet force wich triggered my interest in the brittish army, by the age of 13 i was pretty sure a career in the British army was what i wanted.

during my time at batley grammar school i took up many sports and activities including:
  • climbing (i climbed once a week at the leeds wall and took part in competitions)
  • golf (i was a jnr member at willow valley and had a pretty low handicap)
  • Basic conditioning ( i took part in circuits once a week)
  • Combined Cadet Force (i went on many camps and even a 3 week expedition to Namibia with the CCF
  • Sky diving (I took part in a skydive for my 16th birthday and then raised money and did a solo jump for breast cancer)
  • badminton
  • Water sports (I took part in a wide Range of Water Sports at a camp in France)
  • Young Enterprise Competition
  • Shooting
I came out of BGS with a set of respectable GCSEs and got offered a place at heckmondwike 6th form and decided to accept.

HECKMONDWIKE GRAMMAR SCHOOL
When i first started heckmondwike 6th form i joined the ACF (army Cadet Force) but after a while i decided this wasn't for me and wanted the real thing so i joined the Territorial Army

during my time at Heckmondwike 6th form i took part in many sports and activates including
  • Environmental Project (once a month)
  • RYLA (rotary youth leadership award) where i made great friends
  • running and gym
  • TA
  • climbing
  • bungee jumping
I also saw a Army Careers adviser and went on potential officer visits to Sandhurst and an Engineers Barracks. getting Sponsorship from the Royal Engineers

most of the things i did since deciding a career in the army was for me was in preparation for the selection board. It is my dream to one day pass out of the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst.
